Swansea VS Manchester United Prediction
August marked the return of the new Premier League season as season 2015-2016 started in the first days of the month, while now the clash on “Liberty Stadium” in Swansea will mark the last game in the month and of the fourth round, as all teams will renew their campaigns after around 2 weeks, because of the national team break.
Swansea City will be the last test for “The Red Devils” before the derby against Liverpool which is scheduled for the next round and September will start in a very important way for Louis van Gaal’s men. After a short pause, Manchester United is back in the Champions League group stage where “The Red Devils” are in a group with the teams of PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg and their first Champions League fixture (in the main rounds) after almost year and a half (from the 1:3 loss vs Bayern München) will be only few days after the game vs Liverpool, when Manchester United will travel for Holland for a game against the Eredivisie winners PSV. This marks the beginning of a very busy month for “The Red Devils” who will have to play 7 games in only 3 weeks – four Premier League games – vs Liverpool, Southampton, Sunderland and Arsenal, two Champions League nights – vs PSV and Wolfsburg, as well as the League Cup game against Ipswich Town. Some of the fans have forgotten that feeling but now it is pretty near, as Manchester United will travel for South Wales after another midweek effort, when in Wednesday evening “United” achieved a 4:0 win vs Club Brugge. This came few days after the 0:0 draw against Newcastle but even despite that draw, Manchester United remains undefeated and something more – without a conceded goal in the Premier League. Two minimal wins (1:0 vs Tottenham and Aston Villa) are placing Manchester United right behind their city rivals Manchester City and we believe that the fans must be pleased with the good start of the season, considering the transfer saga around David De Gea and some injuries or absences which are causing some strange rotations in defence, like Daley Blind’s centre-back positioning. Actually the Dutch player has shown his universal skills once again as he looks very stable, though his typical role is to play in midfield or at the left-back, but he’s impressive even in the hearth of the defence, where Phil Jones is still injured, while Marcos Rojo works on improving his fitness.
Swansea City are one from the most impressive teams in the new season and it seems that Garry Monk is doing very good job on “Liberty Stadium”, where he spent more than 10 years as a player. Now Monk has built a very battleworthy team and “The Swans” were very close to begin the Premier League season with a victory at “Stamford Bridge” – 2:2 draw vs Chelsea.
It was followed by a 2:0 win over Newcastle United at home, while in the last BPL round “The Jacks” were stopped from Sunderland – 1:1 draw on North East. However, Swansea can be pleased with the 5 points won so far as they are sixth (before the beginning of the 4th round) and Swansea will also come after a midweek success – 3:0 vs York City in the League Cup.
Garry Monk can be very happy of the attacking strength which he has as in the face of Bafétimbi Gomis (3 goals), André Ayew (2 goals), Jefferson Montero and Gylfi Sigurðsson, “The Swans” look more than decent and we believe that they can keep their top half position for a long time.
Final conclusion, betting prediction and possible squads of Swansea City AFC and Manchester United – Barclays Premier League 30.08.2015
Swansea City is certainly one of the difficult opponents of the new (van Gaal’s) Manchester United since “The Swans” can boast with a double over “The Red Devils” last year, as they won in both games with 2:1. First clash between both teams was on “Old Trafford” and it was the Premier League debut of Louis van Gaal who will remember the Premier League lesson which he received from Garry Monk.
Now, one year later, van Gaal looks well prepared and used with the Premier League football as The Dutchman will hope to keep the positive defensive record. However, Phil Jones is still sidelined as well as the Belgian Adnan Januzaj, who picked up a midweek injury, which may cause a rotation in van Gaal’s approach. We may see Ander Herrera who pushes for his Premier League debut in the starting squad, as he only came as a substitution against Tottenham and Aston Villa.
Now the Spaniard looks like a decent option and we may have a potential rotation in midfield – perhaps a partnership between Herrera, Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin. Marouane Fellaini is also set for his Premier League debut as the Belgian midfielder has already served his suspension.
Swansea City will welcome “The Red Devils” with their best potential on line and we expect another impressive effort by “The Swans”.
We believe that Swansea looks like the team who can end Manchester’s defensive record and considering that the game is in Wales, our pick is for “Both teams to score – Yes“. We have two strong sides who are capable to score and we expect them to do so, as we need to be charged before the lack of Premier League football for the next nearly two weeks.
Possible starting lineups:
Swansea City AFC: Fabianski – Taylor, Williams, Fernandez, Naughton – Shelvey, Sung-yueng – Montero, Sigurdsson, Ayew – Gomis. (4-2-3-1)
Manchester United: Romero – Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw – Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger – Mata, Fellaini, Depay – Rooney. (4-2-3-1)
