Start VS Bodo-Glimt Prediction

Two teams from the Norwegian Tippeligaen bottom will meet in Friday night when IK Start and FK Bodø/Glimt are set to kick-off round 15. Both side can’t be even partially pleased by their results so far and after first 14 Tippeligaen rounds hosts from Kristiansand are still without a victory while visitors from Bodø won’t be pleased to celebrate their 100th anniversary near the relegation zone.
IK Start is team on last position and Steinar Pedersen’s men are with only six points won after 14 games, placing them on the last 16th position. This simply means that Start gained everything after six draws and they can close first half of the season without a game won – awful record for the club from Kristiansand.
Captain Rolf Daniel Vikstøl (defender) and attacker Uduak Idemokon will both miss the game due to injures while talented youngster Kristoffer Ajer already joined Scottish champions Celtic, so Start will have to deal without one of the very promising midfielders in Norwegian football.
Guests from Bodø will travel to South Norway after goalless draw in the last Tippeligaen round when “Glimt” stole a point from reigning champions and current leaders Rosenborg. The 0-0 draw at “Aspmyra Stadion” was the first point of Bodø/Glimt after the summer break (around UEFA Euro 2016) and it will inevitably boost their morale. As we mentioned Euro 2016, we can’t miss to remind you that goalkeeper Hannes Thór Halldórsson was part from Iceland’s Euro 2016 team and he won’t be in contention yet, although Iceland lost from France in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.
Simon Thomas is expected to take the goalkeeping position once again and Aasmund Bjørkan remains with the absence of captain Ruben Imingen and midfielder Morten Ågnes Konradsen. However, their injuries are not something new as they both don’t have a single game so far in season 2016 so this won’t be such an issue for “Glimt”.
FK Bodø/Glimt are with only 12 points so far and virtually they’re not so far from their current opposition in Start’s face. Distance between both sides is just six points and we do believe “Glimt” aren’t pleased with their positioning, not in the year when they’ll celebrate 100th anniversary since club’s creation back in 1916. They’re currently with only one point above 14th Vålerenga and after the point won from Rosenborg confidence in Bodø/Glimt’s players will definitely be higher.

Final conclusion, possible squads and betting prediction

We find good value in the suggested odds on “Asian Handicap 0″ for FK Bodø/Glimt. It’s true that Start should be more eager to win here, not only because of the home advantage, but due to the desperate need of points. However, exactly that pressure and expectations to win over Stabæk (15th) was crucial when Start lost with 0-5 prior the summer break and this time they come after another defeat – comeback from 1:0 to 1:2 in Haugesund.
Bodø/Glimt are the side which can be more cautious as they can be pleased even from a point out of here, so they’re in position to play on counters, while Start must take the initiative and try to win. Something which obviously carries trouble and first home game of Start after the pause will be in completely different matter than last round’s visit in Haugesund, where they had to defend against team from top half of the standings.
