FC Nurnberg VS Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction
The annual Relegation playoff in German Bundesliga enters in its final stage and after the 1:1 draw in Frankfurt, both pretenders for Bundesliga football in season 2016-17 will play the second decisive leg at “Grundig-Stadion” in Nürnberg.
“The Legend” from Nuremberg is keen to return in top flight of German football since they relegated to 2. Bundesliga after season 2013-2014, when Nürnberg finshed 17th. Season 2015-2016 for “The Club” from Bavaria was marked with third position in second level of German football system where René Weiler’s men finished only behind both newly promoted Bundesliga clubs – SC Freiburg and RB Leipzig.
Eintracht Frankfurt is one of the most experienced teams in German Bundesliga with 47 seasons behind their backs. However, “The Eagles” from Frankfurt finished on 16th position after their late defeat by Werder Bremen in the last round 34, as a result of which they must hope to avoid the worst possible scenario.
First round at “Commerzbank-Arena” in Frankfurt was marked by an absolute dominance of Eintracht, but however, Marco Russ’ own goal opened the score for Nürnberg and this remains their only real shot in that game.
Niko Kovač’s men created all the scoring chances but they must deal with the draw and they must forget all missed chances as soon as possible while concentrating upon the upcoming second leg. Marco Russ picked up an yellow card which rules him out of the second playoff, but probably most of you have read about his health issues and that Russ played in the first leg with a diagnosed tumour and he should prepare for a bigger battle. In his absence most likely Peruvian vice-captain of “The Eagles” Carlos Zambrano will return next to David Abraham in hearth of Eintracht’s defense.
Hosts from Nürnberg will hope to become a Bundesliga member once again and they must deal without the injured Patrick Erras, Jürgen Mössmer and Jan Polak, while most of the injury concerns which Niko Kovač has are related also with some central midfielders. Stefan Reinartz, Anderson, Slobodan Medojevic and Johannes Flum are all out of contention, but captain Alex Meier was back in the starting squad in the first leg and his presence increases the attacking strength of “The Eagles” from Frankfurt.
We will place our bet for Eintracht Frankfurt – Asian Handicap 0 (Draw No Bet) on the away team. Commonly the Bundesliga teams avoid relegation after these play-offs (in 12 out of 17 times) and from what we saw in the first leg, Eintracht is the team which holds more quality. They have lost only once in their last 8 Bundesliga matches against FCN and at the same time they have 3 wins and 4 draws. Some good reasons which are backing our recommendation.
