Hamburger SV VS Borussia Dortmund Prediction
All the Friday night lights in German Bundesliga will fall over “Volksparkstadion” in Hamburg where HSV and Borussia Dortmund will renew the contention in the top tier of German football, after the tragedy in Paris and the threats for terrorism which were enough for canceling the game between Germany and Netherlands in Hannover. Now we return on the club scene and our hopes are that we can talk only for football in the upcoming weeks, months, years or whatever, as we will open round 13 with the regular game in Friday evening.
“The Dinosaur” from Hamburg is not that far from the relegation zone again and after the first 12 round HSV has only 15 points, which is with 5 points more from the team on 16th position – VfB Stuttgart. This means that HSV will be keen for adding some in their asset and the home challenge against “The Black and Yellows” will be really tough one for Bruno Labbadia’s men. Hosts from Hamburg are still without a victory since their first home game (vs Stuttgart) and they have scored only once in the last 4 home matches – in the 1:2 defeat from Hannover. Quite poor home form by HSV which surely frustrates the supporters as the last two years were a real challenge for “The Red Shorts” and as most of you know, HSV were involved in two consecutive relegation play-offs. Definitely a sign that something doesn’t work really well in Hamburg.
Borussia Dortmund arrives in Hamburg with another impressive streak formed by 7 consecutive wins in all competitions, as all of them came after the devastating defeat from Bayern München. However, distance between “The Bavarians” and “Die Borussen” is on 5 points again and we are sure that Thomas Tuchel’s men won’t have anything in mind if they can reduce it on even 2 points, before Bayern’s visit in Gelsenkirchen. Good progress of the situation in Hamburg and at “Veltins Arena” can return the Bundesliga intrigue and we are certain that “BVB” will chase the three points at any price.
Our bet here is for some goals – HSV’s defence may have some real difficulties against the speedy attack of “The Black and Yellows” and the impressive number of 27 goals in 7 games, which Borussia Dortmund scored prior the international break, can be a real challenge for Hamburger. Indeed, Dortmund’s pace looks like a serious threat for the not so quick centre-back duo used in most of HSV’s games – Johan Djourou and Emir Spahic, and our bet goes on “Over 3 Goals” between Hamburger SV and Borussia Dortmund. Current form shown by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Ilkay Gündogan and Marco Reus promises some in a moment when Dortmund will hope for first victory over HSV after three unsuccessful attempts in the previous seasons.
