Transformation in just one month – Newcastle in the beginning of October, NEWcastle after the second half of October

Now let give the tribute to “The Magpies” who were in the bottom of the table in EPL only few weeks ago. After the first 7 rounds Newcastle was in the bottom of the standings, sharing the same amount of points (4pts) with the teams of Burnley and Queens Park Rangers. Five rounds after the awful night in Stoke-on-Trent, when the chants and banners about “Alan Pardew out” were in their heyday, and when the pessimism and negativism, were taken the supporters “Geordies”, after the third defeat during the season, and 7th winless match, after the shocking miss of Jack Colback in the closing minutes of the game, 54 days later (29 September), Newcastle is undefeated in 7 competitive games, and “The Magpies” are very close to top 4 (5th because of their worse goal differenca compared to Manchester United, who are 4th). “The Geordies” from Newcastle are not only undefeated, but after the 2:2 draw vs Swansea (4 October) they are in one stunning winning streak – 6 consecutive wins in all competitions and the seat of Pardew looks very safe right now. Newcastle can breathe calmly and the team from North East England looks like a new team after the international break in midle of October.

Six in a row – what happened with “The Magpies”? How can you move from the relegation zone to toe Champions League positions in just one month, months after the beginning of the season?

18.10.2014 was the date when Newcastle looked like a renewed team, and when “The Magpies” won their first league game in season 2014/2015, winning with 1:0 against Leicester City in one game that started one hour later than the usual 15:00 in English Saturday afternoons, due to wind demages to one of the newly-installed giant screens at “St James’ Park”. Newcastle won with 1:0 against “The Foxes” from Leicester in that game after a winning goal by French winger Gabriel Obertan in 71st minute, who marked the beginning of the winning streak of Newcastle in both competitions – Premier League and Capital One Cup. “The Toon” won their next matches over opponents like Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City (League Cup), Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Queens Park Rangers, conceding only 1 goal in these 6 games! Very impressive improvement in the defence of Newcastle for these 5 weeks after the 2:2 draw vs Swansea. Newcastle won with 1:2 (remarkable comeback) at “White Hart Lane” in London, against “Spurs”, and with 0:2 at “Etihad Stadium” in Manchester in only 4 days – amazing performances by Newcastle United, who have scored 7 from their 9 goals in these 6 games in the second halves of the matches. Lucky minutes of Newcastle are between 70th and 80th minutes of the games, in which “The Magpies” scored 4 from their last 9 goals, some of them were crucial like the winning goals against Leicester, goal of Moussa Sissoko who scored his first EPL goal in season 2014-2015 today (22.11.2014), in the 78th minute, bringing the three points for Newcastle against Queens Park Rangers from London, and also the winning goal scored by Ayoze Pérez at 1st of November, when Newcastle won with 1:0 against Liverpool at home.

Incredible improvement for “The Geordies” in just 1 month – great goalkeeper like Tim Krul, key players like Daryl Janmaat, Jack Colback, Moussa Sissoko are also with big influence in the team, all of these four players took part in all 12 EPL games for Newcastle. They showed us that Newcastle can defend well against motivated sides like QPR, who are fighting for their EPL place, even without the injured captain Fabricio Coloccini. French midfielder Mehdi Abeid also showed some great skills, 22 years old defensive midfielder took part in 2 Premier League games – vs Liverpool and WBA, where he had key role in the midfield, where Newcastle won the games. Unfortunately for Pardew and all Newcastle supporters, Abeid is injured, but they know that they have another very good option along with the names of the other French players in Newcastle – Gabriel Obertan, Remy Cabella, Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gouffran, Emmanuel Riviere. There is also very interesting Dutch formation in the team – players like Krul, Janmaat, Vurnon Anita, and the African players like Cheick Tiote, Massadio Haidara and Papiss Cisse also deserve their places in the team, and in perhaps the strongest football league in the World – English Premier League, where Newcastle can count on the “local” players like Steven Taylor, Paul Dummett, Michael Williamson, Jack Colback, Sammy Ameobi.
