Malmo FF vs AIK Prediction, Preview, Lineups & Betting Tips
The 2018 Allsvenskan has already begun and round two comes with a derby between two of the most supported and successful teams in Swedish football – Malmo FF takes on AIK at the “Swedbank Stadion” in Malmö.
This will be the first home match for Malmo in the 2018 Allsvenskan, as The Sky Blues are coming after a 2-1 win in Borås vs Elfsborg on matchday one. Magnus Pehrsson’s men have won after two first-half goals scored by Mattias Svanberg and Arnor Ingvi Traustason. The 2-1 win over Elfsborg has been preceded by five consecutive wins in the Swedish Cup (Svenska Cupen), where Malmo will meet Djurgården in the final match on 10 May 2018.
The 2018 Svenska Cupen Final could’ve been between these two sides but AIK lost 0-2 to its Stockholm rival Djurgården in the semi-final. Nevertheless, the lost Cup match has been followed by a 2-0 win over the newly-promoted Dalkurd FF, which was the first ever Allsvenskan match for the club from Uppsala. Robert Lundström and Anton Jönsson Salétros were the two goalscorers for AIK in that game.

Allsvenskan 2018: Malmo FF vs AIK – Prediction and Betting Tips
Both teams have enjoyed a great start of the new 2018 Allsvenskan campaign and the top two sides from the 2017 season are keen to maintain their form.
Hosts and reigning champions from Malmö are without the injured Norwegian right-back Andreas Vindheim, while central defender Rasmus Bengtsson remain questionable with an illness. Pavle Vagic and key midfielder Oscar Lewicki are both doubtful as well, however their injuries are not new for Magnus Pehrsson and if Lewicki fails to recover in time, Malmo FF’s coach will most likely start with a central midfield duo Fouad Bachirou-Mattias Svanberg.
AIK head to Malmö without the injured defender Jesper Nyholm, whilst the winter signing and former Watford defender Joel Ekstrand is doubtful. If Ekstrand is unavailable, Rikard Norling will stick to the same three-defenders formation he used against Dalkurd in the opening round.
We believe that Malmo and AIK are both really motivated to extend the positive beginning of the new campaign so we expect goals by both clubs on Monday night. Malmo are clear favourites at home turf, although last year’s runner-up AIK shouldn’t be underestimated at all. Thus our betting experts recommend a bet on “Both teams to score – Yes”.
