IFK Goteborg vs Hammarby Prediction, Preview, Lineups & Betting Tips
Last match from round two of the 2018 Allsvenskan is set to take place at the “Gamla Ullevi” in Göteborg where IFK Goteborg and Hammarby are both keen to keep up the positive mood from the opening day.
The Blåvitt (Blue-white) from Göteborg began the new Allsvenskan season with an away match in Trelleborg, where Poya Asbaghi’s men have won 3-1 over a newly-promoted Trelleborgs FF. That was a league debut for Poya Asbaghi at the IFK Goteborg helm, who was appointed as their manager before the start of the 2018 Allsvenskan season. The Iceland striker and number 9 Elías Mar Omarsson netted twice for Goteborg’s victory with a third goal scored by midfielder Vajebah Sakor, who came on as a second-half substitution.
Hammarby started the new Allsvenskan campaign with a home match, in front of over 30 000 spectators at the “Tele2 Arena” in Stockholm, where Bajen won 3-1 against Sirius. All three goals were scored by the midfielder and skipper in Kennedy’s absence – Jiloan Hamad, and the first two of them were successfully executed penalties.

Allsvenskan 2018: IFK Goteborg vs Hammarby – Prediction and Betting Tips
We can say that both sides have underperformed in the 2017 Allsvenskan, finishing on neighbouring positions at the end – Hammarby was 9th, while IFK Göteborg was 10th in the final standings. A few months later they’ve both enjoyed a fine beginning of the new season.
Hosts will be without the injured centre-back Benjamin Zalo and most likely without the centre-forward Patrik Karlsson Lagemyr, who is doubtful. Nevertheless, none of them is a key player so Poya Asbaghi can call on his best men for the first home match in this year’s Allsvenskan.
The son of former IFK Göteborg captain and Sweden national team player Magnus Erlingmark – defensive midfielder August Erlingmark, will miss the game as well.
Hammarby arrive in Göteborg with the injured veteran Benny Lekstrom (goalkeeper) who is doubtful. Anyway, their new coach Stefan Billborn is expected to start with another experienced player in front of the goal, the former goalkeeper of Nordic giants such as Malmo and FC Copenhagen – Johan Sellberg-Wiland.
The latest Hammarby signing, experienced winger Erkan Zengin, is doubtful for the clash tonight, while Danish defender Mads Fenger will miss out.
Hammarby is not known to be a solid team when playing on the road and despite the 1-1 draw from Göteborg last season, IFK Goteborg boasts five consecutive wins over “Bajen” at home turf, before an above-mentioned draw. We like the currently suggested odds for a home win and will place a medium stake on the hosts: IFK Goteborg to defeat Hammarby on Tuesday night (1X2 Betting).
