Udinese VS Torino Prediction
“Il Toro” made a wrong step against Inter which has ended its six-matches unbeaten run, so on Monday night Torino aims to start a new chapter when facing a resurgent host from Udine. Form of Udinese suddenly improves under management of new coach Luigi Delneri, who on his turn will be keen to reach its first success against Sinisa Mihajlovic, after losing once and drew four times in their previous five meetings. Difference between both sides has been reduced to only two points after the midweek Serie A round – 15 against 13 in Torino’s favour. However, you can easily calculate that a home win can eventually tip the scales in Udinese’s favour, so “The Friuliani” have a good reason to trigger towards third consecutive success.
Udinese vs Torino – Team News and Match Preview
Torino won just a point out of recent two Serie A rounds as it came in the 2-2 draw against Lazio last Sunday, when Adem Ljajic equalized from a penalty in stoppage time. Anyway, it was part from the fine form including six games without defeat for “The Maroons”, which has been ended on Wednesday night, when he “Il Toro” became victim of Mauro Icardi’s awakening. The Argentine has finally ended its goal drought and he netted a brace to form final 2-1 for Inter, while goal for guests from Turin was scored by Andrea Belotti. This was sixth goal for Belotti this season and he is unquestionably one of the players on whom Sinisa Mihajlovic relies the most generally. His presence on peak of Torino’s attacking formation has been subject of our previous reviews and we certainly believe the 22-year-old number 9 deserves being described as one of the players with highest potential in Italian football, and not only.
Gigi Delneri was appointed for coach of Udinese early in October, as a replacement of Giuseppe Iachini, who was sacked after a 0-3 loss by Lazio. So far so good, Delneri didn’t had best luck to start its quest with “The Little Zebras” against Torino’s city rivals – reigning champions Juventus. Despite expectations for an easy win “The Old Lady” had to made a comeback as Udinese opened the score, but after a brace by Paulo Dybala, Juventus have met the expectations to earn all points. Udinese didn’t had any reason to regret and we saw another face by “The Bianconeri Friuliani” in next weeks. First of all Luigi Delneri’s home debut has ended in best possible way – winning against Pescara (3-1), while Serie A’s midweek round 10 was a continuation of what Udinese did against Pescara. Main difference was that Udinese has accomplished the 3-1 win against Palermo on the road, when on Thursday evening “Little Zebras” were losing 0-1 after only 10 minutes. It was followed by a first-half equalizer of French striker Cyril Thereau and a second-half brace by his compatriot Seko Fofana, which was more than enough for Udinese’s winning march at the “Stadio Renzo Barbera” in Sicilian capital Palermo.
Udinese vs Torino – Betting Prediction and Possible Lineups
After these two victories Udinese have finally found their real face but this time their challenge will be quite different. We don’t underestimate both victories of Udinese in past 7 days, not at all, but they were against side which were deeply involved in the relegation battle and Torino is a team from completely different quality.
Iago Falque and Adem Ljajic are two other names who have arrived in Torino and their presence improves the overall attacking quality of “Il Toro”. Both were far from impressive last round and Iago Falque was even replaced by Maxi Lopez on half-time, while Adem Ljajic didn’t feel so well that night. Nevertheless, Iago Falque and Adem Ljajic are expected to start for Torino on Monday and trio including names of the two and of Belotti should be real threat for Udinese’s defense here.
Cristian Molinaro remains the only 100% absentee for Torino here, but good news regarding their defense is that Leandro Castán should be ready to return in the team, as he missed last round in Milan. Marco Benassi and Daniele Baselli should be back in the starting XI, which will inevitably refresh Torino’s line in midfield.
Luigi Delneri must pick its starting squad without names of Pablo Armero, Panagiotis Kone and Adalberto Peñaranda, who are all injured. Anyhow, that’s not something new as they’ve all been injured before his appointment, so obviously experienced Italian coach has built its optimal starting squad by using different setup.
Final conclusion and Betting Prediction
“The Bianconeri” from Udine may have serious confidence boost after winning in last two Serie A matchweeks, which could help them improve their game even more. Notwithstanding, Torino are still our favourites to grab full set of points against Udinese, but however, we should have in mind “Il Toro” isn’t so successful away from home. For more safety we’ll place a bet on Torino with the Asian Handicap 0 (Draw No Bet) on their side.
