Napoli vs AC Milan prediction ahead of a Saturday’s Serie A clash at the “Stadio San Paolo” in Naples. After failing to win for just the second time in current Serie A campaign, a goalless draw vs Chievo right before the international break, Napoli will be keen to get things back on track when they take on AC Milan. Read on what our experienced football analysts have to say in a detailed match preview, prediction and more Serie A betting tips.

H2H History: Napoli vs AC Milan

The Rossoneri have failed to beat Napoli in five successive games, with the Partenopei winning four of them. AC Milan only got two draws from the last six visits to the San Paolo, since a 1:2 success more than seven years ago, in October 2010, when players like Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic wore the Rossonero jersey.
There are 4 draws between both clubs in the last couple of years, 4 Napoli wins against 2 for Napoli, after the aforementioned win in Naples (3 with that result).

Serie A: Napoli vs AC Milan 18.11.2017

We have a fascinating Calcio schedule on Saturday night when all major names involved in the round must contribute for a resurrection of the Italian football spirit and mood of the tifosi, only couple of days after a shocking World Cup elimination.
Napoli are simply brilliant so far in the Serie A season, especially at home, but will be taking on a desperate and eager for results AC Milan side. Vincenzo Montella’s position is under constant pressure and Aeroplanino hopes to salvage the current campaign before it’s too late, either for him or for the Milan club.
Despite the lack of wide bench and rotations, The Partenopei have been stellar, captivating hearts all over the world for the attractive style they have. On top of its attacking-minded approach, Napoli remain unbeaten after 12 Serie A rounds. In fact, their last Calcio defeat came in end of February (1:2 to Atalanta) and has been followed by 20 wins and 4 draws in that period.
Also, Napoli looks solid on both sides of the pitch – owning the second best defensive and attacking records with 8 goals conceded and 32 scored, respectively.
AC Milan have not exactly enjoyed the dream start wished by both supporters and management after their impressive summer transfer activity. They hardly look as a cohesive unit throughout the season, but this shouldn’t surprise us with so many new names who have arrived at the “San Siro”. Anyway, huge investments usually require proper behaviour and certain results so Milan will be aiming for a first back-to-back victory since two months.
After three consecutive away defeats in the Serie A, Vincenzo Montella’s men have won their last two domestic visits. That can be kind of an inspiration although Milan lost in all major games so far – 1:4 vs Lazio (in Rome), 0:2 vs Roma (at home), 2:3 in the Derby della Madonnina vs Inter, as well as a 0:2 loss to Juventus in end of October.

Match Preview: Team News, Squads and Missing Players

Maurizio Sarri has often been criticized for the lack of rotation in the squad, but he has been able to get the most of his players by deploying his favourite 4-3-3 tactical setup. Unfortunately, Faouzi Ghoulam’s injury came in a bad moment and the Algerian defender will miss out rest of the season, or at least a significant part of it. He will join another long-term absentee, Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik, on other side of the touchline.
Portuguese defender Mario Rui got his first start of the season replacing Ghoulam at the left-back in Napoli’s last fixture against Chievo, and could be utilized again on Saturday.
Pepe Reina missed last round’s visit in Verona with a back injury but should be fully fit to return under the sticks on Saturday night. Experienced Spanish goalkeeper shall start at the expense of Luigi Sepe who replaced him against Chievo.
AC Milan’s boss has his own concerns as the most recent one is related with name of Turkish attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, who joins Andrea Conti in the injury list. However, Vincenzo Montella should be glad that Giacomo Bonaventura, who has been ruled out with an injury in the last three weeks, is back in contention and hopefully he should be ready to feature from the outset.
Leonardo Bonucci is a pale shadow of the player we used to know in Juventus but he looks certain for the centre-back trio, while Cristian Zapata and Alessio Romagnoli are the two others. The Argentine Mateo Musacchio, who also joined AC Milan in the summer, is another centre-back option. Also, Ricardo Rodriguez, whose only goal in the playoffs against Northern Ireland has qualified Switzerland to the World Cup, should return at the left flank after missing the 0:2 win vs Sassuolo.

Napoli vs AC Milan Prediction and Betting Tips

Napoli are clear favourites and if they want to lift the Serie A trophy for the first time after 1990, when AC Milan with goal scorer Marco van Basten were runner-ups, then Maurizio Sarri’s men must maintain the gained momentum since reigning champions Juventus, Inter Milan and both Roman clubs follow them closely.
AC Milan, on the other hand, were expected to be much further along in their Scudetto-winning project, but it seems they will have to wait longer.
Expectations are for an easy home victory but all efforts and investments of the AC Milan board must start carrying results, sooner or later. That’s why we anticipate a nervous match in Naples and likewise the Derby of Rome, we expect an encounter suitable for card betting.
Daniele Doveri was appointed as a referee of the clash and we fancy the currently suggested odds on “Over 5.5 Cards“.
