Group I of the 2016-17 UEFA Europa League already has its winner but we find three more teams, which are all interested into the second position and respectively for a Round of 32 promotion. Two of them will meet on Thursday night, 24 November 2016, when FC Krasnodar takes on RB Salzburg at the “Krasnodar Stadium” near the Kuban River. “The Bulls” are still second, although they have lost in last two legs against group leaders Schalke 04, but Krasnodar still finds itself in a best position among all other pretenders. On other hand we have “The Red Bulls” from Salzburg and their ambitions inspired by a 0-2 victory in Nice last round.

FC Krasnodar vs RB Salzburg – Team News and Match Preview

First encounter facing Krasnodar and Salzburg was back on matchday one and it has been won by the Russian side. Battle of the Bulls at the “Red Bull Arena”, near Salzburg, was decided from only one goal, which was scored by winger Joãozinho in closing part of the first half. That remains one of the two wins which Krasnodar achieved in Group I of the UEFA Europa League groups, so eventual victory over Salzburg can be a huge step towards 1/16 finals.
Krasnodar’s confidence will be higher after their weekend result, when on Sunday afternoon “Bulls” have finally ended their winless form. The 3-0 win against Ural was pretty much influenced by half-time substitution and name of striker Fyodor Smolov, who came as Ari’s replacement after first 45 minutes. His presence is a certain factor for Krasnodar’s attacking ability and we saw completely different attacking mentality and efficiency by Krasnodar in the second half, when Yury Gazinsky, Smolov and naturalized Russian citizen with Brazilian descent Joãozinho were all on the score sheet.
Thus FC Krasnodar putted an end of its run from three games without winning (two draws and a loss in Gelsenkirchen), which raises to four, if we count the Russian Cup 2-2 draw against FC Orenburg, where Krasnodar were final winners, but in extra-time.
Salzburg arrives in Russia after a 2-1 victory against Rapid Vienna in the weekend, which leaves “The Red Bulls” third in Austrian Bundesliga, but they have reduced distance from top two teams to only two points.
This was the fifth win for Óscar García’s men in their last six games and they can aim another one, which may set them in a fair position before last group phase round, when Salzburg will host to Schalke 04.

FC Krasnodar vs RB Salzburg – Betting Prediction and Possible Lineups

Despite being in fine form, Salzburg must cope without its goal scorer Jonathan Soriano, who has been ruled out due to a thigh injury. Wanderson (thigh injury) and Smail Prevljak (knee) are two other attackers who will surely miss the game, while midfielder Konrad Laimer is suspended due to yellow card accumulation.
Salzburg’s coach Óscar García should wait until last moment when it comes to names of Marc Rzatkowski (illness) and Hee Chan Hwang (thigh injury), who are both questionable.
Meanwhile, Krasnodar’s head coach Igor Shalimov cannot rely to injured midfielder Pavel Mamaev. Anyway, presence of Joãozinho and Fyodor Smolov up front can be crucial and we believe Krasnodar can win its home match against RB Salzburg.
Our betting prediction goes for victory of the home side – FC Krasnodar to win against RB Salzburg on Thursday night (1X2 Betting).

Venue: “Krasnodar Stadium”, Krasnodar.
