It’s already certain that “The Red Bulls” from Leipzig will extend their debut European campaign but the only question ahead is whether they will be placed in the UEFA Champions League or in the Europa League draw. RB Leipzig hosts to the Group G winners Besiktas who are irreplaceable on the top position and have yet to lose a game in this year’s group stage.
After five rounds we find Besiktas confidently sitting on the Group G peak and “The Eagles” from Istanbul are waiting the 1/8 finals draw on 11 December 2017. “The Red Bulls” hope to take the second position but this will happen only if they pick up more points than Porto, who are facing eliminated AS Monaco at home.

UEFA Champions League: RB Leipzig vs Besiktas 06.12.2017

This is the first time Besiktas have reached the UEFA Champions League knockout phase. The Turkish champions have won their two away games so far in this season’s competition and victories at venues as the “Stade Louis II”, as well as the “Estádio do Dragão” are making their campaign even more impressive. Furthermore, Besiktas head to Germany after a remarkable 3:0 win in the Istanbul Derby against Galatasaray last Saturday, thus shortening the distance to their rivals to three points only.
Senol Gunes surely intends to make some rotations in the squad since his squad must travel in the weekend when “The Eagles” must face a well-performing Kayserispor side. Experienced goalkeeper and skipper Tolga Zengin is one of the players who can claim first-team football on Wednesday night, as well as the outfield players – Necip Uysal, Caner Erkin, Matej Mitrovic, Gary Medel, Oguzhan Özyakup, Talisca, Jeremain Lens, Alvaro Negredo. They were all on the bench or not included in the group against Galatasaray, but most of them participated in a massive 9:0 Turkish Cup success over Manisaspor last week. In fact, Negredo, who also scored vs Galatasaray coming on from the bench, scored four goals in that game and Lens netted a hat-trick.

RB Leipzig vs Besiktas 06 December, 2017 Tip
Both Teams To Score - and Over 2.5 Goals
2.25 5/106.25

RB Leipzig may take on Besiktas without some key players who all struggle with different injuries. Marcel Sabitzer is the one who will miss out on 100%, while Dayot Upamecano, Willi Orban and Emil Forsberg are doubtful. If they fail to recover in time Ralph Hasenhüttl may have to make some significant rotations, especially in defense, where youngster Ibrahima Konate and natural midfielder Stefan Ilsanker are set to start as a centre-back duo. Ilsanker and Konate have already played one half together and that happened last weekend when RB Leipzig lost 4:0 to Hoffenheim, with three goals being scored in the second half, when Upamecano and left-back Lukas Klostermann left the field. Nevertheless, RB Leipzig is still second in the Bundesliga and “The Red Bulls” will hope to bounce back on the continental stage.

RB Leipzig vs Besiktas Prediction and Betting Tips

Besiktas have never won in Germany, where their record is 1 draw and 3 defeats, scoring twice on their four visits while conceding six. However, Senol Gunes can enter into his second duel against Ralph Hasenhüttl with no any pressure and the experienced Turkish coach can field out some players who are eager to claim more first-team football.
RB Leipzig can be seriously weakened at the back and they must compensate with the attacking ability, which we couldn’t see last weekend. Anyway, their 1:4 win in Monaco was only two weeks ago and Ralph Hasenhüttl will expect to see more of the same.
Our betting prediction goes on the goal scoring markets: “Both teams to score & Over 2.5 Goals“.
